Your Guide to Art Basel Miami

Art Basel is held once a year in three cities around the world; Basel, Switzerland in June, Hong Kong in March and the largest of the three, Art Basel Miami, is hosted every year during Miami Art Week. From December 6th to the 9th, more than 260 galleries will showcase works by over 4,000 artists at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The events attract over 70,000 artists, curators, collectors, dealers and art aficionados looking to see, buy, and sell works from both emerging artists and contemporary masters. For one week, Miami will transform into a bazaar of outdoor installations, festivals, keynotes and private parties at what has become the Fashion Week for the art world. To help you navigate the madness we’ve curated a guide of the hottest shows, events, talks and fairs you won't want to miss.

Art Basel

Starting Thursday December 6th, the Miami convention center will be divided into seven sectors which include: the Nova, featuring pieces fresh from the artist's studio, Positions, a platform for a single artist to present one major project, Edition, showcasing collaborations between leading publishers and renowned artists, Kabinett, where galleries present a curated exhibition by an artist of their choice and Survey, a presentation on historical projects. There’s also the Magazines sector and lastly the galleries. Art Basel also includes a series of artist talks and panel discussions so be sure to grab a schedule and book your tickets beforehand - It’s bound to be a very busy week.
